OXUM

Goddess of beauty, richness, and luck
Oxum, © Francisco Santos

Oxum is the Orixá of love. She embodies the mature, pure, real, true, sensitive, and solid love.
She is the most beautiful and most seductive of all, but she is also vain and jealous. Oxum is the mother of freshwater, Orixá of rivers and springs in general. She is also the goddess of reproduction, of progress, of emergence. Thus all pregnancies are put under her protection. She also shelters fish and birds.

She governs the strong will and she also is the owner of gold; she is present in all locations, where gold is being worked on. Her colors are yellow and gold, her stone is the sapphire and her symbol is the heart. Oxum lives in springs, creeks, and rivers. Her day is Saturday.
